After hearing Arvind’s account, I replied, "It is unique. The Nandgaon Second Machine Tools Factory is nearby, and it’s been abandoned for years. But I can’t be sure if this is your real experience; something about the story is odd."
He asked, "What’s odd about it?"
"You said your mother brought you here, so she must have worked at the factory. I just can’t believe any mother would let her child face the execution ground every day. Was she completely unaware?"
"No, she knew."
He gives a small, almost proud nod, as if he’s just unlocked a secret he’s carried for years. The cell seems to shrink, the air thickening with unspoken truths.
