Chapter 5: Justice Served, Goodbyes Said
The male lead was so angry he could barely speak. He gritted his teeth and managed, “Raine, you’re something else.”
I yawned and lazily replied, “Of course I’m great. As for you, who knows. Need me to call an ambulance?”
“No need,” Graham said through clenched teeth.
“Good, I was just being polite. If there’s nothing else, please leave. I’m sure a civilized person like you wouldn’t sneak into a girl’s room at night, right?”
“I’m just here to tell you, tomorrow you’re coming back to the estate.”
Trying to save face, Graham left that sentence and limped away.
I smiled, loosening the razor blade I’d hidden under my pillow.
Too bad—I thought I could play for a few more days.
Fine, I’ll keep it up at the estate.
I locked the door, ready to sleep, when Autumn Raine suddenly spoke up.
“So you can refuse him like that? You’re amazing. Thank you.”
I immediately realized—Autumn Raine was probably hurt by the male lead this way before. I was furious.
“Remember, if you don’t want something, whoever does it to you is forcing you. You can use any means to protect yourself.”
“I will. Thank you so much. No one ever taught me this before. Can I know your name?” Autumn’s voice trembled with tears.
“Call me Momo.”
“Momo? Like the peach? Sounds nice. Thank you, Momo.”
I hesitated, but oh well—Momo it is. At least it’s not ‘nanny.’
Early the next morning, after reluctantly saying goodbye to the handsome attendants, I got into the car Graham sent and went back to the estate.
As soon as I walked in, my eyes were assaulted.
Graham was making out with a strange woman on the sofa, loudly. With my 20/20 vision, I could even see strings of saliva between their mouths.
Help! My eyes!
Seeing me come in, Graham had no shame—his eyes were provocative, as if to say: If you don’t want me, there are plenty who do.
He even got more brazen, to the point I wondered if they’d start wrestling right in front of me.
What, am I part of your show too?
Best way to handle this? Ignore him.
I walked past them nonchalantly.
Leaving behind: “Sorry, I get dizzy at the sight of needles. You two go ahead.”
Taking advantage of Graham’s shock, I quickly went to my room, locked the door, and couldn’t help ranting to Autumn.
“Autumn, do you really have to have this trash man? I’m scared he’ll give you some disease one day.”
I heard Autumn’s hesitant voice.
“Momo, I don’t know anymore. After meeting you, I realized Graham isn’t as good as I thought. I want to leave, but I know he won’t let me go.”
Heavens! Earth!
I was so excited I wanted to cheer at Graham and his partner’s love scene.
The female lead’s eyes, previously clouded, finally saw the light!
I replied right away, “Don’t be afraid, I have a way. I’ll help you.”
No sooner had I spoken than a wave of nausea hit me, and I bent over retching.
The silly-sweet female lead immediately worried I’d eaten something bad.
Feeling uneasy, I quickly recalled the original plot.
This timing, these symptoms—
If nothing unexpected happens, something unexpected has happened.
The female lead is pregnant!!!
Transmigration god, are you kidding me?
I finally talked her into leaving, and now this?
I cautiously asked, “Autumn, if—just if—you had Graham’s child, would you still want to leave him?”
Autumn replied without hesitation, “No. I lost my parents when I was little, so I know how hard it is for a child like that. I won’t let my child suffer the same.”
I instantly made a face.
Autumn seemed to realize something, her voice trembling: “You mean—I have a child? I really have a child! I’ll treat him well, give him everything I have, and make him the happiest baby in the world.”
