Chapter 4: Dream Invasions and Blue Film Confessions

I reason say some kind wahala, e better clear am sharp sharp.

If I leave this one, my spirit go tire. E better I carry my two leg waka settle am, before e spoil pass repair.

Especially now—if Musa vex, e fit just cut neck for drama. My work record go spoil.

No be today. If Musa decide to kpai out of vex, na me dem go query for Underworld. Promotion go fly.

That night, I rush enter him dream, dey panic.

I no even plan style. I just storm the dream, heart dey race. Sade dey shout from back: "Boss, cool down!"

This time, I just step enter air.

Spirit wahala—sometimes your leg no dey touch ground for dream. I nearly tumble.

Almost fall.

I catch myself for air, like say I be acrobat. No be small thing.

I balance for wall, look up—everywhere don change.

As I raise eye, shock grab me. This one no be office o!

Musa dream na always office.

Normally, na boardroom, file, computer everywhere. But today…

But this time… na big bed!

E shock me. E big—king size. Sheets white like snow. Na so I dey fear.

And for bed—Musa!

Musa full chest, lying down like king. If you see e face, e dey glow. Na another Musa be this.

Night don deep, I no see well.

Spirit eye no too dey work for darkness. I dey squint, dey try decode who dey beside am.

I just see woman dey bed.

Body soft, skin shine. The woman dey twist, dey find comfort. The kind woman wey dey enter dream, dey scatter brain.

Moonlight dey shine for her skin, white like harmattan, body dey twist for bedsheet.

As moon touch her, I see beauty, but something dey off. My spirit dey suspicious.

Musa still wear suit, but sweat dey him face, desire dey show.

If you see sweat, you go think say e run marathon. Eye dey red, lip dey open. Desire choke everywhere.

"Tell me, wetin you do wrong?"

Musa voice low, dangerous, with one kain command. Na wetin dey make person confess crime wey e no do.

Him big hand hold the woman neck, press am small—she just moan.

I blush small—spirit fit blush? The way e hand dey grip, na love and wahala dey mix.

"I… I no do anything wrong…"

The woman voice dey beg, but na pleasure dey full am. My mind dey reason, who be this?

My heart jump.

That voice—e resemble my own! No be juju be that?

Wait, that voice—

Na familiar voice. E get the same sound as my own mouth for life.

I wan confirm.

Spirit curiosity dey high. I wan see the face well, but darkness dey block.

Suddenly, big hand cover my eyes from back, drag me back.

One hand—strong, cold—just carry me back. I no fit move. Spirit no fit fight spirit?

Musa voice, full of vex, enter my ear: "Who send you enter my dream without permission!"

Na real Musa be this, no be copy. E drag me like say e fit see me with spiritual eye. E vex, voice hard like stone.

I understand sharp sharp—na real Musa be this. The scene for front na just him fantasy.

Next thing, everywhere spin—like dem change DSTV channel without remote.

I quickly realize say na my Musa. That scene na film for e mind. I dey inside dream inside dream.

I begin laugh, dey tease am: "Ah-ah, Musa, so you dey do blue film dream!"

If I get teeth, e for shine. My laugh dey echo. I dey shame am, dey enjoy myself.

I try open him fingers, dey peep.

I dey use small small strength, dey open gap for hand, wan peep that bed drama.

For bed, Musa and the woman don change style.

Action no dey finish. E be like say dem dey compete for world record.

After break, e look the woman: "How e feel for nobody to touch you? No be you say you hate me?"

E dey yarn with vex, but eye dey soft small. Na anger and pain dey fight for e mind.

"Wicked woman, I fit kill you!"

E talk, but hand dey tremble. E love and hate dey mix like ogi and milk.

But him hand no leave the woman wrist.

E dey hold tight, as if say e no wan let go, even for dream.

Him eye just dey her back, dey craze and dey vex.

Love and wahala dey roll inside e eye. If to say spirit fit bleed, e for bleed here.

Clear say, na love dey do am.

Even for hate, na love dey run show.

The real Musa behind me just dey vex, dey shame: "Ifeoma, get out from my dream!"

E dey try form hard guy, but shame dey show. If to say e fit disappear me, e for do am sharp.

After all this our wahala, I never gree lose—and this time no different.

Me, I no fit back down. For this life and afterlife, na stubborn spirit I be.

I finally break free.

With one shake, I free my eye, waka near bed.

I just dey grin. "No know say you dey form holy for outside, but for dream, na another thing."

I rub am for face. For outside, e dey act like saint, but for inside dream—na different story.

"Mr. Musa, which babe you dey like? Show me—I be ghost, I fit help you toast am."

I dey form helper, but na real amebo dey run my blood. I dey press e button.

Musa face just pale. E shout, dey shake: "No go there!"

E voice dey high, eye red. If to say e fit throw me comot, e for try.

I dodge am, waka reach bed, open bedsheet.

My stubbornness get as e be. I shift, open bedsheet—wetin I see shock my spirit.

Freeze.

Spirit no dey freeze, but I freeze. My mouth open, my leg weak.

Under the bedsheet, na me—Ifeoma—dey there, face full of tears, cheeks red like tomato.

Na my face, my tears. My spirit dey inside dream, inside another dream. Na double wahala.

She just glare, dey cry: "Musa, who send you stop? Small time you don tire?"

If to say spirit fit hide face, I for cover everywhere. This one pass my level.
