She was playing some twisted viral game. The rules were simple, but sick: 100 challenges designed to ruin your partner, one task more brutal than the last.

Whoever invented these tasks had to be sick. Morality, laws, basic decency—none of it mattered here.

But I didn’t care how it started. What mattered was that Lillian—my wife—was already deep in this game.

The proof was in the posts. Photos, videos, receipts for every completed challenge.

Challenge 51 was the one that hit me hardest: she kissed another man. The photo was blurry, but the shape of her jaw, the curve of her neck—I knew them better than my own reflection. Was this really her? My Lillian? I wanted to believe it was a trick of the light, a deepfake, anything but the truth. But there she was, giving her most intimate side to someone else.

I’d never heard Lillian talk like that before. It was like she’d handed her real self to someone else, saving only the shell for me.
