Chapter 5: Hotel Heat and Contract Love

As we dey go hotel, e no talk anything.

Na silent ride, only AC dey blow. Musa just dey look window, sweat dey roll for e neck. My mind dey run wild, dey plan next move.

But sweat soak e shirt, even with the dim light you go see am.

E resemble person wey run marathon under sun. I dey wonder if I fit help, but I no wan provoke am again.

As we enter, na so e press me for wall, e hot breath near my ear, voice rough: “You say you wan dey keep me?”

The question land heavy. E body dey vibrate, e eyes red. I no fit escape, wall dey my back, e hand dey block road.

E head no correct that time.

I know say e dey fight e own brain. Drug dey control, but e spirit still dey try hold ground.

My heart dey beat anyhow, but I try calm down, pat e face. “Musa, you sabi who I be?”

My voice dey shake, but I try form strong. If I lose guard, anything fit happen.

E laugh small, e eyes dark. “I sabi. Na the madam wey wan dey keep me.”

The laugh no get joy. Na deep sarcasm, like say e dey mock my money and my position.

Plenty sarcasm full there.

If to say na Nollywood, soundtrack for don start.

I no know who drug am, but na only me fit help am now.

E veins for forehead dey show as e dey try hold body.

E dey grit teeth, e no wan lose control, but drug no dey hear word.

Sweaty hair cover e eyes, everywhere just dark.

E hair dey stick for forehead, sweat dey drop. I dey fear, but I still dey try.

I talk, voice dey shake, “This one no be like say I dey use person wey need help?”

My voice small, na question I dey ask myself too.

“Yes.”

E answer sharp, no dey sugarcoat am. E voice rough, pain dey inside.

Na there e lose control, grip my head, kiss me like say e wan swallow me.

E no gentle at all. The thing strong, my breath stop, my body dey fly. My leg dey weak, e hand dey grip me like say I be last hope.

I be like fish wey dey find air, na only the one wey e give me I dey manage.

My body dey surrender, I no fit form strong woman again. E control everything.

As e hand waka enter my cloth, I feel say e palm dey wet with cold sweat.

The sensation cold, but e own heat dey pass fire. Na confusion full my mind.

Even with the drug, as e dey try, e still free me.

Small voice for my mind dey shout make I run, but I just freeze. E still get small control, e release me.

“You no go keep me, madam?” E voice rough, e dey vex small.

E dey challenge me. Na as if e dey dare me, make I show who really dey in charge.

E black eyes dey shine, like say fire dey inside. “You fit do anything wey you want now.”

E dey push me, e dey vex, but also dey beg small. If you see e eye, you go fear.

E reach like that?

I dey reason, dey fear myself too. Na me bring us here, now e dey push me reach edge.

I look down, scratch my head.

I dey confused, dey find sense inside madness.

“How about you try hold body small? Nurse dey come.”

I try distract am, but e no dey listen. I just dey find solution, dey pray make nothing spoil.

E face change, eyes dark.

E dey struggle, sweat dey drop, e eye dey burn.

Sweat dey drop from e forehead, e fine face dey frown.

E dey bite lip, dey grip chair. My heart dey race.

“Or…make you baff cold water first?”

I suggest am, but e just look me with doubt.

Musa: “…You sure say you sabi wetin you dey talk?”

E eye dey shake, confusion and vex dey mix for there. Na as if e dey ask if I get sense at all.

E eyes just dey confuse, shame and small vex dey there.

My own pride dey shake too, but I just dey reason next step.

E just resemble all those correct guy wey person dey use play, my wicked side come out.

I dey feel one small wicked joy, but e still pain me. Na so side character life be.

As e no dey reason well, any medicine go do.

I dey try all I fit, even dey pray for miracle. I dey reason make I no spoil e destiny.

I just call driver, tell am make e no bring nurse again.

Driver just answer, "Yes ma," e know say story don change.
